Let's talk about California.

I wrote three entries, and have decided to condense them into one.

Let's begin.

Day 1: We fly in at about noon, and already I wish I was home. We drive a lot, eat dinner, and I play a little bit of my game boy.

It's time I tell you that this is the first of the driving. We probably spent about 15-20 hours in the car (3 hours from SF to Monterrey, 4 hours from Monterrey to Yosemite, 5 hours from Yosemite to SF, and a few more assorted hours, including an hour to get ANYWHERE in Yosemite). I was in total hell, at least 3 times I yelled out how much I hated the goddamn minivan.

So.

Day 2: We start with Whale Watching. Sounds fun, right? We're there for 5 hours, and it seems to me that once you've seen 4 or 5 whales you've seen them all.

Goddamn. I keep spelling hours 'hourse'. Dammit.

So we end up eating something, and I convince my aunt to let me rent videos while mom and dad drive to Big Sur for an evening. I got Memento, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, and Tim Allen's Men Are Pigs. A good evening.

Day 3: I wake up looking forward to more driving. That morning wasn't really memorable, but we did spend 4 freakin' hours going to Yosemite. I drank 60 oz. of soda. Damn. Anyhow, we settled in, ate some crap.

Day 4: I wake up, my mom and I are planning to do some art classes but it never pans out. We walk around, I sketch some things, she takes pictures, it's all good. We talk about my friends over some pizza. I make a lot of discoveries because of this. I traced back my social troubles right now all the way to 7th grade - basically, it revolved around gaining and losing atmospheres of people. Hard to explain.

Day 5: Unremarkable

Day 6: We get into San Francisco, and find that the housekeeping is on strike. Chanting unintelligibly ALL DAY! This is one of the things driving me insane. We got a ride on a cable car, one of the only worthwhile things in SF. If you ever ride a Cable Car in SF, get in the front.

Day 7: We do the Coit Tower, very pretty, and Pier 39, very cool. Like Navy pier for SF. A decent day.

Day 8: Golden Gate Bridge, very good pictures. And I come home.

Through the whole thing, I wanted to go home...

I have made a few decisions on this trip. The most important is that I am not a vacation person.

There's only one entry out of 3 I'm going to post, and I'm going to post it now.
