It comes to my attention that I haven't anything to say here anymore.
I will talk about my game, which is tentatively titled Timelines.
It is for the computer game programming colloquium.
So it's Anthony and I, mainly. I can do art, he has a lot of knowledge on the theme, we both can code well and can think and plan well. Then there's Sujay, who so far has mainly disagreed with me and been stubborn - he tried to pull something. He suggested a standard fantasy RPG, and I said there's no way in hell I'm doing that. I dislike it, I don't know anything about it, and it's been done over and over. So I suggested a semi-futuristic RTS, and as a concession, some elements of an RPG. So he immediately pulled... "Yeah, if we did that it would pretty much have to be an RPG... and we should probably just go with fantasy." to which I replied, something along the lines of, what did I just get done saying? Alex Zook doesn't do anything and basically follows whoever's winning.
Anyhow, this has been my geek-out event of the week. Anthony and I talked about it a lot today, about mechanics, plot, linearity, and even easter eggs and humor. I have my first colloquium working on the game this coming friday. Anthony seems commited to my concept, and I definitely am. The real challenge comes just before the week is over.
