What up, Negro.
So much was said A year ago that I wholeheartedly agree with, but I'm going to give this another shot.
You're the smartest person I know, hands down. It's a special kind of intelligence, the uniquely 'you' sort of intelligence. So you didn't score a perfect 36 on the ACT. I know people who did, and you're definitely smarter than them.
You have a way of breaking shit down that I admire. An instantaneous judgement - that something is bullshit, or that something sucks. It sounds so retarded coming out of my mouth, but anyone who knows you knows what I mean.
And the thing is that back when I would bitch to you, there were times where I held myself back because I could predict the sort of thing that you would say if it was something that was stupid. I got sort of good at it, to the point where I was imitating you last year in CS. Got quite a few surprised looks, in a "I thought he graduated" sense.
You command attention. Hell, when you're present, I can even attempt to command attention. You're just that good.
There are two things I'd put up as a testament to you.
One, in War Lit last year. You and I were working on an in-class essay test. I sort of shat through the whole thing. You were talking to Ian, asking what he did for the essay, and there were ten minutes left. I was buggin you about it, and you were all, hold on a minute. It got down to five minutes and you cranked out your half of the essay before class was over. We get it back for a straight up 100%.
Two, last year when I had the Reliant, and John-boy and Mad-am had a problem that I wouldn't give them a ride because of my relatively small seatage. John-boy makes a flippant comment while leaving, and you call him out on it. We were about to go our separate ways, but you called him out on it, and he got thoroughly served. That was impressive.
I think the thing is, you really get it. This whole motivated apathy thing, that's what it's about. We've had some good fuckin' times, man. Here's up to the future.
