You know, I find "Older than You" to be a very pretty phrase, at least when used out of the grade school years. As condescension, perhaps, but mostly when the age differences are marked but not spoken about, where people acknowledge that they've got these artificial constraints that divide, but you pretend they're not there for the sake of acceptance.
