as i wait for the tylenol to kick in
i will tell you something i did today
something good
while i was waiting for the bus
(with a headache)
i heard a cell phone ring
i saw it in the middle of the street
i picked it up, but it was only the bottom half
i found the top lid a little further away, and the body of the top of the phone behind a newspaper box
i assembled it. when he called back, i told him where i was going
he called back twice to make sure
i ended up getting him his phone at the train stop
one of the guys among them gave me $25, which was really nice
usually the gracious thing to do would be to refuse, but i had a terrible headache, and i wanted to catch my train, so i accepted
i wish i could have thanked him better
i was worried, as the phone was pretty beat up when i found it (even though it still worked)
i am glad that i could return it to him
and wish i could have thanked him more for the gift.
